General Tips
Looking after indoor plants can seem like a lot of effort, however if you keep the following in mind you will soon find it a breeze.
Know your light:
Before you buy a single plant, consider the light in your new home. Different plants need a different degree of light. Selecting the correct plants for a specific area will save you a lot of headaches, and let your plants flourish without any hard work
Ask your local nursery:
Don’t be afraid to ask questions, Nursery staff are there to aid you in your plant growing mission and will be happy to help you with any concerns.
Select your plant location carefully:
It is important to consider the changing environment of your new home. Don’t put your plant where it will be hit by the heater, accessible to a dog, or in a place that is mostly low light but is hit by direct afternoon sun every day.
Kitchen
The kitchen is a focal point of any new home. With high traffic, and the ability to bring the family together to share a meal, the kitchen can seem difficult to decorate. However, there are many ways that indoor plants can complement your new home design.
Grow your own herbs:
Both a beautiful way to add colour to your kitchen and a practical way to create delicious meals for cheaper. This can also be used as a perfect project for the kids.
Utilise your window sills:
Collections of plants look stunning on a window sill, as well as saving on your precious bench space. Mix and match with different pots, colours and sizes for the greatest effect.
Create a shelf masterpiece:
A perfect way to decorate those hard to reach shelves is to line them with plants.

Create a welcoming yet calm living space with indoor plants. This is a great place to decorate with plants in your new home because the possibilities are endless.
Create a focal point:

Hang your plants like art:
Decorating your walls can become tedious and repetitive if you don’t try new things. Hanging plants on the walls is a simple and elegant way to decorate- it is also much cheaper than other options.
Bathrooms
A place of serenity, the bathroom is perfect for collecting plants. However, there are a few hurdles that may have prevented you from decorating your bathroom in the past; lighting, bench space available and humidity
Hanging plants:
When you are stuck for space, hanging plants is a great solution. There are many different ways to do this, including using different rope, chain or pots.
Terrariums:
These are perfect for bathrooms as they can either be closed or open terrariums and are low maintenance. Typically bathrooms can be quite low on lights so choosing plants like ferns is s great option. Hanging terrariums are also a great idea if you like the idea but are hindered by the limited bench space in many bathrooms.
