Lilydale is located in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs; about 34km northeast of the Central Business District. Beginning with a population of 212 people from its origins in the 19th century, to an astounding 16,531 residents as of the 2016 Census, Lilydale is a quick-growing suburb home to many diverse types of individuals. The Commute
About an hour away from the CBD, the suburb is home to the conveniently named Lilydale Train Line. Box Hill Institute also provides tertiary education in the community with the Lilydale Lakeside Campus, offering students with a range of different vocational and higher education programs. As mentioned before, the suburb is known as the gateway to both the Dandenong Ranges and the Yarra Valley. it is also home to the iconic Warburton rail trail – this 38km recreation trail for walkers, cyclists and horse riders follows the path oh the historic railway line. Boasting stunning architectural design, features, exhibition spaces is the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum. Make a day trip and explore programmes for all ages, a resource library, a museum shop and a cafe.

For a sunny day out, visit Lilydale Lake Park that features a large lake, with sailing and fishing being one of the most popular activities. It also includes BBQ areas, picnic tables, and lawn areas to relax on.
