The Neighbours
The age distribution of the suburb is skewed towards a slightly older population at present, with recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics listing the median age of residents as 40 years. Of the approximate 24,000 residents, children aged 0-14 comprise 17.5%, while young people aged 15-29 account for 18.7% of the population. Given the ongoing development of several apartment complexes, it is anticipated that young families and professionals chasing larger, yet more affordable homes will continue to flock to the area.
The Commute
The suburb is largely serviced by Main South Road, which connects the area to the Adelaide CBD via the Southern Expressway. While travel via this route is an approximately 30-minute journey, transport via rail from the nearby station of Christie Downs averages an only slightly longer 45 minutes on the Seaford line.
