According to the 2016 census, there were a recorded 6,000 residents living in Mullaloo, with a median age falling over the national average at 40 years. An older population is well represented here, making up 14% of the overall township. Being a great coastal town driven by the community, the area is engaging to families, with this demographic making up 56% overall.
Transportation
Mullaloo sits on the Western Australian coastline, roughly 26km from the Central Business District. For residents looking to travel into the state’s capital, an approximate 40-minute drive is required when taking the Mitchell Fwy southbound. Alternative routes can be taken into Perth and it’s major airport including the state route 71 and the Reid Hwy. The closest train station to Mullaloo is the Whitford Railway Station which is serviced by the Joondalup line and can be accessed by travel on the 461 bus which runs frequently between the suburbs. Travel into Perth by train will take residents about 20 minutes.

The School Run
Within the town, there are two primary schools including the Mullaloo Heights primary school and Mullaloo beach primary, which enrol students years prep-6. The Ocean Reef high school is a short 5-minute drive away alongside the kindergarten. For those looking for religious institutions, the Whitford Catholic Primary is easily accessible with a 3-minute drive.
Retail Therapy
The Mullaloo Plaza shopping mall is the perfect retail hub where residents can find all their everyday essentials. Anchored by an IGA, the plaza also provides a hairdresser, a chiropractor, takeaway eateries and a cafe. A Westfield complex located in the neighbouring suburb of Whitford is a convenient location for residents to visit retail heaven, with a wide selection of clothing stores as well as specialty retailers, banks, beauty spas and professional services.
