As a fast-growing suburb, Traralgon’s demographics vary. Traralgon’s population of 25,485 is comprised of a variety of families, couples, singles and retirees. A majority of Traralgon’s adult residents work full-time, with the most common occupational types being professionals, technicians and administrative workers. Local primary school options include Grey Street Primary School, Stockdale Road Primary School, St. Michael’s Primary School and Kosciuszko Street Primary School. Reputable secondary school options include Traralgon College and Lavalla Catholic College. Traralgon is also home to the Latrobe Special Development School, which specially caters for students with physical and/or intellectual disability. Other highly regarded schools in the Latrobe region include St. Paul’s Anglican Grammar School and Gippsland Grammar School. Tertiary education is also available to students as Traralgon is home to various TAFE providers and Federation University’s Gippsland Campus is only a 15-minute drive away.
