SHAWOOD is a brand of Sekisui House Australia, which describes it as “part homebuilder, part developer, part engineering firm”. SHAWOOD at Bingara Gorge is one of its communities: 30 Butler Drive, Wilton, is the sales centre for the SHAWOOD homes inside Lendlease’s Bingara Gorge estate. Those homes are Japanese-inspired, architect-designed and sold complete and ready to move into. The first release sits on the Ridgeline, fronting the golf course. SHAWOOD homes use engineered timber construction developed in Japan, where the first SHAWOOD home was built in 1995. In Australia, Sekisui House opened its SHAWOOD factory at Ingleburn, NSW in 2010 and released its first homes in 2014. The site says the homes are “crafted within a millimetre of perfection”, using an approach honed over three decades, with passive design and energy-efficient features. Sekisui House holds an iCIRT 4-Star Gold rating and built SHAWOOD’s first net zero energy home outside Japan. Every SHAWOOD location listed is in NSW: Bingara Gorge in Wilton, Elara in Marsden Park, Gables in Box Hill, Asora in Norwest, Cascadia in Calderwood and Norman Estates in Gledswood Hills, plus Castle Hill, North Kellyville, North Turramurra, Wahroonga, Warriewood and Frenchs Forest.
