Coastal lifestyle boom drives demand for Fraser Coast

Australians are flocking to Queensland’s Fraser Coast to swap out skylines for the sea, drawn to the lifestyle benefits which come with regional coastal living.

With the Fraser Coast ranked fourth nationally for net internal migration1, award-wining developer AVID Property Group (AVID) is experiencing this demand firsthand, with consistent enquiry for new homes in its flagship land lease community Vantage Hervey Bay.

AVID CEO Anthony Demiris said since the community’s launch demand had been significant, driven by over-50s buyers seeking a sea change and a change of pace.

“The uptick of over-50s buyers choosing regional living to start their next chapter has prompted noticeable enquiry of our community in Hervey Bay,” Mr Demiris said.

Vantage Hervey Bay offers a luxury approach to coastal living and has proven popular with sea changers and locals alike, with resort-style facilities and premium location – just a short drive to the beach front and local amenities and services.

Residents Jennie and Steve Neary said moving to the Fraser Coast had turned every day into a holiday, with the couple choosing Vantage Hervey Bay for its proximity to the beaches, dog-friendly community and vast outdoor spaces.

“We love taking our puppy for walks along the ocean or esplanade – every day is a beach getaway considering we’re only five minutes from the water,” Ms Neary said.

“Our afternoon walks are the highlight of my day; the community seems to come alive with everyone out and about – we always seem to end up chatting with our neighbours.”

Whereas Steve and Belinda Thomas said their move from the city to the coast was prompted by a desire for relaxed retirement which would align with their ‘lock up and leave’ nomadic lifestyle.

“After selling our home in Brisbane last year, Vantage appealed to us because we can keep our caravan safe undercover or spontaneously travel without any hassle,” Mr Thomas said.

“There’s barely any home maintenance due to the community’s land lease model, meaning if we want to, we can get up and hit the road for weeks at a time.”

Vantage Hervey Bay has now welcomed more than 100 residents and recently celebrated the opening of its premium community Clubhouse, which features an outdoor lap pool and adjoining spa, outdoor yoga area, community garden, two saunas, exercise studio and luxury large screen theatre.

Set on 23 hectares, Vantage Hervey Bay is a new land lease community on the Fraser Coast, Queensland by AVID Property Group (AVID). Vantage Hervey Bay is the beginning of a new AVID community and will deliver 300 homes for about 550 residents over the next six years.
