Style break in the bathroom with Plantation Homes

Style break in the bathroom with Plantation Homes

A bathroom or ensuite is an incredibly personal space, so it’s important to think about how the colours and textures make you, and your guests, feel in the area.

The Plantation Homes team of expert Interior Design Consultants work with new home buyers every day to step through all the design decisions, so we’re sharing three of the most popular design themes, each created to be comfortable and functional.

Welcoming zone – dark and moody

Darker tones can help create a sense of warmth, with black and grey gloss tiles and feature black tapware, or shady timber notes in the cabinetry working together for a sophisticated, hotel-vibe space.

Use moodier tiles on the wall and pair them with a lighter shade for contrast – consider subway or mosaic setting for added depth.

Setting off the dusky shades, add a sprinkle of gold tapware, extending to the shower racks and shower heads. These little additions add luxury to the everyday.

Hot on trend is brushed Nickel and accessories. It is not only sleek and sophisticated, but also lends itself to many interior design trends from Hamptons to industrial and everything in between.

Natural elements - timber tones

Timber is starting to be infused into the bathroom, because it feels warm, stylish and of course, it’s functional.

The warm from timber tones can elevate a space, adding texture and bringing in that essential natural element, which is especially appealing in a bathroom.

Timber also tends to sooth and refresh our senses. From the beauty of recycled hardwood, as well as laminated and timber veneers, timber can work with just about any colour tile and tapware. You can also consider high-quality engineered, timber flooring, which can be installed in the bathroom outside the shower area.

Fresh feelings - bright and white

For some, bathroom bliss equates to a light and bright bathroom. A stunning white free-standing bath, offset by white tiles from floor to ceiling in the handmade effect – hot on trend by the way, creates a timeless bathroom.

To break up the white, consider a colour featured tile in emerald…a stroke of perfection with matching soft touches like candles and towels.

Earthy tones in the styling on the vanity completes the picture in an all-white bathroom. Soaps, candles and designer soap dispensers set the scene for a bright bathroom, which still welcomes you with warmth and functionality.

Don’t flush away the opportunity

A great bathroom would not be complete without a perfect toilet, but getting the right one requires thought!

There are lots to choose from and it comes down to personal choice. From the standard Classic toilet suite from Raymor, Luna Clean Flush wall faced close coupled rimless toilet suite from Caroma, to the sleek Raymor Byron In Wall Faced suite, they all have unique features – one surely perfect for you.

Optional extras

Add a touch of nature in the bathroom with a plant or two, or consider a Bird’s Nest Fern or a Pothos in a hanging basket. A splash of green not only looks fresh, it feels crisp and luxurious.

Choosing a statement mirror and lightning will be the deciding factors in any bathroom but particularly the powder room. Consider a dramatic pendant or a feature wall light off to either side of the mirror.

Browse basins and bowls and everything in between

A perfect bathroom is a space where you can relax and unwind, which is why we have plenty on display, so you can find, create or figure out your idea of perfect! Our qualified Interior Designers will also be able to work with any vision you have during your Selection appointment at Plantation Design Studio.

Visit any of our display homes, and we won’t judge you for bending around the bowls and basins to give it a good inspection, in fact, we encourage it so you can create just the right space for you!
