The Neighbours The age distribution of the suburb is skewed towards a slightly older population at present, with recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics listing the median age of residents as 58 years. Of the approximate 2,650 residents, children aged 0-14 comprise 12.3%, while young people aged 15-29 account for 13% of the population. With the area’s ongoing residential development, it is anticipated that young families and professionals chasing all the benefits of city living without the same expense will continue to flock to the area.

The Commute The area is largely serviced by Chambers Flat Road and Mount Lindesay Highway, both of which connect the suburb to the Brisbane CBD via the Pacific Motorway. While travel via car to the city is an approximate 35-min journey, transport via Translink takes a slightly longer 50-mins. Kingston and Loganlea railway stations are both closely located to the main areas of the suburb, with access to several different bus routes available from there.

The School Run Park Ridge and its adjacent suburbs host a mix of highly regarded public and private, primary and secondary schools, including Parklands Christian College, Old Logan Village State School and Saint Philomena School. Park Ridge Childcare and Preschool, along with a number of other early learning facilities, is conveniently located within the vicinity of the major school and shopping districts. The Logan Campus of Griffith University is situated a mere 15-mins from the Town Centre, while the wider selection of universities available in Brisbane City are less than 40-mins away. For those more inclined to learn a trade or undertake an apprenticeship, the Loganlea campus of TAFE Queensland is also closely located to the suburb.Retail Therapy Residents have access to the smaller and more local shops of Park Ridge Town Centre and also the larger selection of retail, business and civic facilities offered at Logan Central Plaza and Holmview Central Shopping Centre.
