Situated 45 kilometres south-west of Sydney’s CBD, Oran Park is a recently developed and rapidly expanding suburb. Located on the site of a former raceway, some seven thousand homes have materialised here in the past eight years. The area was master-planned to function as a self-contained community, with every need considered. Given this, locals have little reason to leave the suburb.

THE COMMUTEGiven the suburb’s rapid expansion, public transport infrastructure is still developing in Oran Park. The commute into Sydney CBD requires a transfer from local bus to the T8 route at Minto railway station. This will take an hour and a half. Alternatively, along the M5, the drive clocks in at approximately fifty-minutes. RETAIL THERAPYLocated at the heart of the community, Oran Park Podium is a premier shopping experience. This centre hosts every service and amenity conceivable, including the largest Woolworths in New South Wales. The Podium also features a medical centre, a dentist, a hairdresser, a chemist and a bank. ‘Eat Street’ is another novel aspect, where locals can sample a diverse selection of food retailers.

WHAT'S GOING ON?Wellbeing is a central focus of the suburb’s masterplan. It boasts kilometres of walking tracks and acres of parklands. Other notable amenities include four playgrounds and three sporting fields. Numerous outdoor fitness stations are also located throughout Oran Park town. The suburb’s ‘Wider Roads. Safer Streets’ design initiative is working to ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists. This aims to enrich the community-centric philosophy of the area, as outdoor areas are reconsidered. Oran Park streets are not specifically designed for commuting from place to place but are a safe space to enjoy the company of friends, family and neighbours.
