Whether you have already purchased a vacant block of land, looking for a house and land package or to knockdown and rebuild, you’ll want to discover all you can about your chosen suburb.

Location Demographics

Broadbeach offers an ideal blend of sun, sand and surf. The lively suburb can be found just 6kms east from the heart of Gold Coast and around 4 kilometres outside iconic Surfers Paradise- where you’ll find more than enough room to enjoy your morning coffee without being joined by crowds! With a range that extends all along both coastlines in this serene setting awaits its next victim; 83km away lies Brisbane’s busy Central Business District.

The area is a popular holiday destination and has attracted tourists, interstate visitors, couples and families to settle in the neighbourhood. In 2021, the Australian Bureau of Statistics has estimated a population of 6,800 residents in the 2021 Census and close to 5,900 private dwellings built. At the moment, there are 1,600 families calling Broadbeach home and the median age is 46 years old.

Travel & Infrastructure

In addition to the multiple public transport services available, Broadbeach is also situated close to some of the Gold Coast’s major roadways, including the Pacific Motorway and Gold Coast Highway. This makes for easy commuting for those who need to travel further afield.

As the southern terminus of the G:link light rail line, Broadbeach South Station provides easy access to the heart of Broadbeach and its many attractions. The station is also home to 2 light rail platforms and 2 bus platforms, making it a convenient stop for those travelling in either direction. The Broadbeach North light rail station also allows direct access for travellers at a central location, offering a taxi rank and ample parking.

Some of the bus services that operate in Broadbeach include the 715, 727, 733, 737 and 739 with stops along Surf Parade, Old Burleigh Road and more within the vicinity. Drivers also have easy access to the Gold Coast Highway, which makes travelling to and from Broadbeach a breeze.

Shopping

If you’re looking for a retail fix, the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre is a great option. Located along Hooker Boulevard, it’s filled with retail brands, department stores, boutiques and more. You’re sure to find something you love!

The beachfront complex Oasis Shopping Centre on Surf Parade is also nearby, providing even more services and delicious international dining options.

Not only does Broadbeach Tavern have live music, it has great food as well. It’s the perfect place to hang out with friends and enjoy a great meal. Cafes nearby also offer fantastic views of the beach as well as great coffee and food, making it a lovely spot to relax and take in the natural beauty of Broadbeach. If you’re looking for nightlife, look no further than Main Place Shopping Centre and the Niecon Plaza for either a relaxed evening out or a wild night on the town.

Schools & Recreation

There are a number of schools in the area that families can choose from, including Broadbeach State School on Alexandra Avenue for primary school-aged children. The Gold Coast Surf Academy and Arts Academy are also nearby, which offer extracurricular activities for students. Parents can send the younger ones to Broadbeach Community Kindergarten just outside downtown core. For higher education opportunities, Bond University and Griffith University Gold Coast campus are both right at your doorstep, offering everything from arts management diplomas to computer science degrees.

The Star Gold Coast is a resort with endless entertainment options for all ages. There are music shows, live performances and upscale restaurants by the lakeside to keep you entertained at any time of day or night! You can also catch an event in town – like conferences & expos running monthly- that will give you something new every single visit.

The Cascade Gardens is a great place to relax by the riverside, which features rainforest walks, picnic areas and a wildlife sanctuary. Every first and third Sunday of the month, you can check out the Art & Craft Markets at Kurrawa Park next door and have some fun swimming with family or reading books on the vast shoreline while the kids play outside in the rugby and soccer fields. Outdoor exercise equipment is also available at the nearby Paula Stafford Park if needed.
