Suburb Profile: Kellyville

Taking its name from Hugh Kelly, a prestigious former landowner, the New South Wales suburb of Kellyville is situated approximately 36 km north-west of the Sydney CBD within the jurisdiction of The Hills Shire. Retaining it’s idyllic, country feel in the wake of ongoing expansion, Kellyville boasts an attractive mix of medium-density housing, contemporary suburban dwellings and acreage bushland homes. Combining urban convenience with provincial charm, this suburb is perfect for young families and retirees seeking to lay their roots in a homely and expanding neighbourhood! Here is our guide to the area:

Demographics

The age distribution of the suburb is skewed towards a slightly younger population at present, with recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics listing the median age of residents as 35 years. Of the approximate 30,000 residents, children aged 0-14 comprise 24.3%, while young people aged 15-29 account for 18.8% of the population. With ongoing development in the areas of Rouse Hill and Balmoral Road, it is anticipated that the demand for land amongst young families and professionals will continue to increase.

The suburb is largely serviced by Windsor Road, which connects the area to the Sydney CBD via the Lane Cove Tunnel and M2 Hills Motorway. While travel via this route is approximately a 39-minute journey, transport via rail from the nearby Kellyville station averages an only slightly longer 50 minutes.

The School Run

Kellyville and its adjacent suburbs host a variety of highly regarded public and private schools, including Sherwood Public Ridge School and William Clarke College. Bright Start Kidz, along with a number of other early learning and childcare facilities, is conveniently located within the vicinity of the major school and shopping districts. Residents are also only a short 25 minutes away from the Parramatta Campus of the University of Western Sydney and less than 10 minutes from the Castle Hill Campus of TAFE NSW.
