Located in the City of Casey, Clyde is a suburb situated in South-East Melbourne and is 48 km from Melbourne’s CBD. It is known to be a quiet and peaceful suburb, best suited for families and retirees. In the next ten years, the population of Clyde is expected to grow faster than Victoria as a whole and approximately 68,300 new homes will be available for residents. Clyde is currently under major residential development.

The neighbours
The median age of residents in Clyde is 30, which consists of families with young children, couples, and then followed by older couples. Couples and families aged 45-54 make up the largest percentage of residents in this suburb.

The commute
Cranbourne Train Station is less than a ten-minute drive away from Clyde, which also gives commuters access to 640 parking spaces. There are also numerous bus stops there. It takes an hour to travel to the CBD. Residents also have access to the South Gippsland Highway, and driving to the CBD takes forty-five minutes.

The school run
Clyde is a great suburb for families with children owing to the forty-eight primary schools, seventeen secondary schools and many childcare centres in the vicinity. Just a ten-minute drive from Clyde is the Berwick campus of Monash University and just a forty-minute drive to the Burwood campus of Deakin University.

Shopping for the family
Residents are close to many shopping centres, one of them being Australia’s largest, Fountain Gate Shopping Centre, which is just a fifteen-minute drive away. Clyde Village Shopping Centre contains a supermarket together with a petrol station. Less than a ten-minute drive away is Cranbourne Park Shopping centre, which gives residents access to more than 120 stores. Casey Central Shopping Centre is also just a ten-minute drive away, with access to 100 stores.

Clyde is not too huge on the nightlife, which is why there are plenty of outdoor pursuits for residents to enjoy. You’re never stuck for choice when planning an excursion out of the city either, Mornington Peninsula is just a thirty-minute drive away, whilst you can reach the Dandenong Ranges in just forty-five minutes and Puffing Billy in just half an hour. A fifteen-minute drive from Clyde is also the Casey Cultural Precinct, which includes a large regional theatre, art gallery, a studio, function centres, and a library.
