Suburb Property Profile: Riverstone NSW 2765

Riverstone is a suburb located in the Blacktown City Council. Situated in Sydney’s West and 48km from the Central Business District, this suburb is rich with history. Originally settled in 1803 as a government stock farm, the small country town is one of Australia’s oldest. Riverstone remained a small country town up until the beginning of the 21st century. Whilst it may be one of Sydney’s oldest gems, the township is looking at refurbishments that will see it become a thriving hub equipped with a bustling town centre, village green and high rise buildings. Poultry farming and intensive market gardening are still important activities in the area.

Riverstone

The Neighbours
The master plans to transform Riverstone into a vibrant and ergonomic city have been set into motion with the expected influx of more than 9000 residents in the next two decades. Currently, the suburb is home to 7,000 residents with a median age sitting around the national average of 34 years. Amongst these are 2,000 families making the town a great homely residential area perfect for raising a family.

The Commute
The suburb is between Richmond Road running from Blacktown to Richmond, and the Windsor Road running from Windsor to North Parramatta, making travel to the CBD roughly 50 minutes. For those who commute by train, the Riverstone railway station is a heritage-listed service located on the Richmond line that will take passengers roughly an hour by train into the city centre. Multiple bus routes will also take travellers into Blacktown and Marsden Park. The M7 Motorway can be accessed by the Richmond Road ramp and provides faster access from Riverstone to the City. The suburb also has continuous motorway link to the Sydney Airport via the Lane Cove Tunnel.

The School Run
There are currently a few primary and high schools that service residents including St Johns Primary and Riverstone High which is undergoing major million-dollar developments. The project is set to see the school greatly benefiting the Riverstone community by delivering 12 new permanent classrooms and refurbished student amenities and administration facilities.

Retail Therapy
Whilst the town is yet to receive a bustling shopping hub, works are underway to transform market street into a town centre complex that will offer residents a wide variety of retail and entertainment stores. Getting by in a country fashion, full bellies are on the menu with a cute collection of small-town cafes. The journey into Marsden Park is a short 20-minute drive where a large retail hub awaits.
