When building a new home, it’s not just about finding a great house design and purchasing the land; the location you choose will have a significant impact, not only to your enjoyment of life, but to the value of your investment. Cranbourne is one of the fastest growing suburbs in Melbourne’s South-Eastern metropolitan area, with just over 20,000 current residents. The suburb itself is just off the Monash Freeway, making it city accessible but with plenty of parks and nature reserves. With land still available for approximately $400,000, you can balance your busy working life with the serenity nature with a new home in Cranbourne.
Education
Cranbourne boasts 59 schools in the local area, both government and independent, and primarily co-education. Tertiary education options such as Chisholm Institute and Monash University Berwick campuses are also nearby, and Cranbourne library is the second biggest within the Casey Cardinia network.
Transport
While Cranbourne is on the outer edge of the South Eastern metropolitan area, its close proximity to the Monash Freeway takes the stress off driving. A trip into the city will take you approximately 50 minutes (excluding peak hour). There are few bus services around Cranbourne, but the train line runs directly into the CBD with a travel time of approximately 55 minutes.
Leisure
When you’re building a new home, it’s important to be able to enjoy the area you’re living in. One of Cranbourne’s unique features is its Royal Botanical Gardens, which features bushlands, native fauna, picnic areas and its distinctive red sand Australia Garden. Cranbourne has plenty of green spaces, as well a wide range of parks, playgrounds and nature walks to choose from.
The City of Casey has a range of sporting facilities and clubs to join for football, tennis, rugby, netball, cricket and cycling, so there are plenty of options for staying active.
The Cranbourne Pacing Cup is a new addition to Cranbourne Racecourse, which already hosts regular horse and greyhound races, meaning you don’t have to travel far to enjoy a day at the races.
Shopping
Cranbourne Park shopping centre has a variety of retailers ideal for your regular shopping, however, if you are looking for all the big brands under the one roof, Westfield Fountain Gate is only a short drive away. If you are looking for unique shopping experiences, there are various markets and food truck festivals that run regularly at both Berwick and Mornington, only about 10-20 minutes away.
