The School Run
Aveley hosts a healthy selection of centrally located schools. ‘Great Beginnings’ is an early learning centre that caters for children aged from newborn to six years. The recently founded Aveley North Primary School is an independent public school that pursues high performance in teaching and learning. At a senior school level, Aveley Secondary College seeks to engender their students with the necessary skills to tackle the 21st century.

What’s going on?
On the weekend, ramble along one of the area’s legendary trails. The Swan Valley Food and Wine trail boasts a 32-kilometre scenic drive dotted with distilleries, wineries and artisanal markets. For the more active locals, the Swan Valley Heritage Trail is a 12-kilometre cycling route suitable for all fitness levels. Along the way, be sure to recharge at Swan Valley Chocolate Factory and take a photo at Lookout Hill, which offers unrivalled views of Perth’s skyline. Just five minutes from the centre of town, the Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm is a Sunday favourite. A small entry-fee includes interactive animal experiences, tractor and train rides, bouncy castles, playgrounds, merry-go-round rides and tea for the adults. Looking to really tire the kids out? Jungle Park Whiteman Edge is an unparalleled playground experience. This facility reflects Aveley’s relaxed and upbeat character. Climbing nets, walkways, bridges, slides and a wading creek are just some of the features to explore. For the adults, there is ample lawn to settle in for a picnic of local produce.
