Suburb Property Profile: Mango Hill QLD 4509

On the road to Redcliffe in QLD Australia lies a town named after the mango trees that line Anzac Avenue. Formally known since the 1950s as Mango hill, the QLD suburb which lies in the vicinity of North Lakes, was officially defined in the 1980s. It is now a great small suburb which lies a short 30 minutes to Brisbane airport and 55 minutes to the beautiful beaches, which line the prestige Sunshine Coast. The Neighbours
Mango Hill is known as a friendly and family-oriented suburb and is home to a minuscule 8,434 residents with the median age being predominantly 30 to 35 years. Maturing couples and families make up 24.5% of this suburb, established couples and families a 24.3% and older couples and families make up 17.1%.

The Commute
The suburb located in Brisbane’s North is easily accessible to the Bruce Highway. In 2016, the suburb was equipped with its own Mango Hill train station that forms part of the Redcliffe Peninsula railway line. For city dwellers, the commute from Fortitude Valley in the heart of the CBD to the suburb is a short 24-minute journey. Three separate bus routes operate via the Mango Hill station which takes passengers directly into the adjacent suburb of North Lakes just 4 minutes West.

The School Run
Mango Hill and the parallel town of North Lakes have 4 schools including Mango Hill state school which offers primary education. The North Lakes State College services Prep to Year 12 and the school is predicted to reach a capacity of 3,320 students within the next couple of years. Just a short 5-minute drive is The Lakes College, the closest private school in the area. The University of Sunshine Coast (USC) is planning to open a campus in Petrie in 2020, just a short 15-minute drive from the suburb.  Planning and works are commencing for a new high school in the vicinity which has plans to open its doors in 2020.

Retail Therapy
The Mango Hill marketplace is a metropolitan Neighbourhood shopping centre, located approximately 25 km north of the Brisbane CBD. The centre is anchored by a Coles supermarket and complemented by 15 specialty retailers, 4 office and 5 external tenancies. For a wider shopping experience, North Lakes, which lies just a short 2km away, is host to a Westfield, Event Cinemas, IKEA, Costco and Town Centre Tavern. For foodies, the Mango Hill Tavern is the perfect dining experience equipped with a family bistro and sports bar to suit the occasion.

What’s Going On?
Mango Hill is a perfect destination for those who like to get active. A 12 km bike ride trail along the peninsula link will lead you to Kippa Ring or Petrie stations, giving you space to cycle while taking in the scenery. The Halpine Lake offers the perfect spot for a Sunday morning dog walk, or you can treat the kids to a fun afternoon of army style paintball and laser skirmish.
