Surrounded by breath-taking views right along the bay, the renowned suburb of Waverton showcases the charm that only the North Shore of Sydney can bring. This New South Wales town is highly regarded for its central location right between the popular Balls Head Bay and Berrys Bay. Just a stone thrown away, it is situated just a close 4km north of Sydney’s booming Central Business District. The town was named in 1929 after the Waverton Estate and is well-known for its cultural significance.

Demographics
A part of the North Sydney Council, this flourishing suburb houses only around 3,020 people and is expected to grow with more properties being built and residents settling down. The Australian Bureau of Statistics has calculated about 830 families living in the area along with groups of professionals, retirees and singles. The median age is 38 years old with 33% of the community aged between 25 to 40 years old. On the other hand, the 65 years and over demographic make up around 17% of the total population.
The School Run
There are quite a handful of schools that are conveniently within the local area to welcome and accommodate all students. To name a few of the options, the Shore School, North Sydney Demonstration, Cameragal Montessori and Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College are all nearby for primary and secondary students to attend. For those interested in pursuing further study, the Australian Catholic University North Sydney Campus is a quick 5-minute drive from home. The Stanton Library is also an 8-minute drive, providing educational resources for all ages.

Transportation
Recognised as a heritage-listed location for the NSW State Heritage Register, the Waverton Railway Station can be found along Bay Road and is serviced by Sydney Trains. Following the T1 north shoreline, passengers are ferried every ten minutes with the travel time to the city centre only taking up 17 minutes. There are also a number of bus stops along Crows Nest Road and Bay Road. The place is also closely linked to the Pacific Highway, connecting drivers to a smooth journey along the Bradfield Highway.
Retail Therapy
There is no dull moment for shoppers with stores and supermarkets that can be found left, right and centre. Just in the vicinity, there are also plenty of cafes and restaurants that offer a variety of international cuisines to satisfy your culinary cravings. A short 18-minute drive away, the iconic King Street is a prime location for a perfect shopping spree with popular brands spread out around the block.

The Balls Head Reserve, Carradah Park and Waverton Park are also the ideal spots to soak in the full scenery.
