Madora Beach Estate was first established in 1960, with the name initially deriving from two locations within Western Australia; called Chadora (a mill and railway siding by Dwellingup) and Mandora (a cattle station nearby Broome and Port Hedland). The name was soon changed to its current title of Madora Bay in 2003. This picturesque suburb is a coastal dream in the City of Mandurah, and only 58km from Perth. Known for their iconic beach and friendly atmosphere, this small town encompasses a calm ambience that is only reflected by the residents that live there. Demographics

With only a small population of 2,728 people (according to the 2016 Census), Madora Bay is known for its warm and welcoming residents. 45.4% of households in the suburb are couples without children, with a close 44.9% of households being couples with children. A predominantly family-oriented suburb makes for the tight-knit harmonious community that the town is often praised for.

Transportation

Beginning at Mandurah Station and ending at Coastal Lakes College, the 584 bus route goes directly through local attractions and recreational facilities. Travelling along Challenger Road, the 584 route stops close by various reserves like Norma & Allan Withers Reserve and Charlie & Dorothy Coote Reserve, as well as the Madora Bay Hall and Madora Bay Tavern. This bus route also stops right on Madora Beach Rd for easy access to the shore. In addition, Mandurah Railway Station is a short drive away that allows for efficient transport to the City of Perth with a commute time of about 50 minutes.

Shopping For The Family

A quick 3-minute drive from the centre of Madora Bay will lead you to Lakelands Shopping Centre in Mandurah. This is the closest shopping complex in the district and offers a variety of everyday groceries, retail therapy, diverse dining options, and essential services. Local cafes can also be found within the community, like Tides Cafe, San Remo which is located by the beautiful beachside.

The School Run

Being a small community, the options for schooling around Madora Bay are generally primary schools or early learning centres. These include Oakwood Primary School, Lakelands Primary School, and Goodstart Early Learning Madora Bay. Coastal Lakes College and Mandurah High School are the closest nearby high schools in the local area. Each of these schools are within a 10-minute drive from one another.
