Located in Perth, the southern suburb of Canning Vale is a hidden gem just 16km from the city’s central business district. Known prestigiously for its neat and green streets, trendy feel and affordable housing, the town is the perfect spot for new families or first homeowners. THE NEIGHBOURS
The 2016 census revealed the town was home to 33 thousand residents with a median age across the board being 34. Families make up 27% of the suburb’s population, with children ages 0-14 comprising 21% overall.

THE COMMUTE
A range of buses links the area to the Perth CBD, Murdoch University and to Cannington. Many bus services connect with trains at Murdoch, Maddington or Thornlie stations for further travel. With over 33,000 residents in a 25.5sqkm area, Canning Vale is one of Perth’s largest and most populated suburbs and is on the cusp of some dynamic changes set to take place in 2019 including the 17.5km Thornlie-Cockburn Link Metronet project, which will see two local railway stations built at Nicholson Road and Ranford Road.

THE SCHOOL RUN
The suburb is host to a diverse range of schools, ranging from primary to secondary education including the likes of Canning Vale Primary and St Emilie’s Catholic school. Taking State Route 13, Curtin University is an easy 18-minute commute. The travel is even less for those studying at TAFE with the morning trip just a fast 13 minutes by car or 35 minutes by bus.

RETAIL THERAPY
The Livingston Marketplace is a central hub for residents with over 46 stores on offer – ranging from clothing retail to butchers and banks. If you’re a foodie at heart, Canning Vale has the spread, with many cafes and multi-cuisine restaurants waiting to blow your taste buds away.

WHAT’S GOING ON
Whether you’re a local, new in town or just cruising through, Canning Vale has plenty of events and activities to keep you entertained. Known for an abundance of great parks and recreation, the suburb is the perfect spot for a throw of the frisbee, a picnic or a walk with the dog around the lake. The Triassic fun park is a great weekend location for families and the Pioneers Nursery Garden is a fantastic trip for those with a green thumb. Wondering what to do on a Sunday morning? Why not visit the Canning Vale markets? Held at Market City, this is a great place to find a bargain or two and fresh produce.
