Once a prominent suburb for farming and timber manufacturing, Logan Reserve is today a thriving residential hotspot, boasting both contemporary suburban dwellings and acreage bushland homes. Situated approximately 40 km south of Brisbane’s CBD, this up-and-coming suburb has proven especially popular with young families and retirees seeking to lay their roots in a homely and expanding town. With a number of newly opened estates and various local amenities, it’s no wonder this area has seen the stock of properties increase by an astronomical 171% in the past twelve months! Here is our guide to the area.

The Neighbours
Recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics lists the median age of residents as 29 years. Of the approximate 4,000 residents, children aged 0-14 comprise 24.4%, while young people aged 15-29 account for 26.2% of the population. With the area’s ongoing residential development, it is anticipated that the demand for land and property amongst young families with children will continue to increase.
The Commute
The suburb is largely serviced by Logan Reserve Road, which connects the area to the Brisbane CBD via the Pacific Motorway. While travel via car to the city is an approximate 44-min journey, transport via rail takes a slightly longer 60-mins. Loganlea and Beenleigh train stations provide access to several different railway lines and a number of bus routes.
Retail Therapy
Residents have access to the smaller and more local shops of The Village Place and also the larger selection of retail, business and civic facilities offered at Logan Central Plaza and Holmview Central Shopping Centre. Queen Street Mall and MacArthur Central Shopping Centre are both less than 50-mins away and provide a more unique mix of boutique and popular chain stores, alongside a wide variety of casual and fine-dining options.

The School Run
Logan Reserve and its adjacent suburbs host a mix of highly regarded public and private, primary and secondary schools, including Old Logan Village State School, Canterbury College, and Saint Philomena School. C&K Logan Reserve Community Kindergarten, along with a number of other preschool and childcare facilities, is conveniently located within the vicinity of the major school and shopping districts. The suburb hosts the Logan Campus of Griffith University and is less than an hour away from the Brisbane CBD and the wider selection of universities available there. For those more inclined to learn a trade or undertake an apprenticeship, the Loganlea campus of TAFE Queensland is also closely located to the suburb.
What’s Going On?
This highly community-oriented suburb is conveniently close to a number of parks and sporting facilities, perfect for the active family! Stoneleigh Reserve Park and Crestmead Park boast several low-key walking tracks, as well as vast open spaces, ideal for those seeking a quiet retreat away from the fast pace of city life. Both parks offer small playgrounds and beautiful settings for casual weekend picnics. Beenleigh Artisan Distillery is similarly popular with visitors and locals alike! Situated on the banks of the Albert River in the original stone building first established 130 years ago, Beenleigh makes rum the traditional, boutique way. Whether you enjoy a meal and a drink or opt for the classic tour, the Distillery provides a great weekend haunt for Logan Reserve residents.
