You may or may not want to hang out with them, but you want to be surrounded by people that you are comfortable with, who are respectful, understanding and won’t cause any trouble. As daunting as it may be to introduce yourself to neighbours, it is the best way to develop a good relationship with them. Forming these connections can help you if you ever need it.
