The population of Sunbury sits at around 36,000, with a median age of 37 years. The suburb is relatively popular among young people working in the Clerical and Administrative (16.5%), Technicians and Trades (16.5%), and Professionals (15.9%) due to its accessibility to nearby manufacturing hubs.

Travel & Infrastructure

One of the perks of living in this suburb is its easy access to main public transportation. Residents in the suburb can catch a train at Sunbury Railway Station towards Melbourne CBD or hop on to the V/Line services towards Regional Victoria via the Bendigo train line. A Commute to the CBD by car takes approximately 35 minutes via freeway. If you travel abroad frequently, Melbourne Airport is only a 15-minute drive.

The neighbourhood is well-connected to meet your day-to-day needs. Sunbury has an established commercial precinct with large retail brands and stores, all within the vicinity of the residential towns. Other schools include Sunbury Primary School, Salesian College Sunbury and Our Lady of Mount Primary School. Sunbury is an ideal location for raising a family, widely known for its close proximity to national parks, such as the Organ Pipes National Park, landmarks and historical buildings in the area.  There are a couple of piers in the area and Jackson’s creek is just one of many that offer a perfect fishing spot for a short family getaway. The suburb also boasts recreational areas including the Dingo Discovery Sanctuary and Goonawarra Golf Club.
