Suburb Property Profile: Point Cook VIC 3030

Point Cook is a progressive suburb at the City of Wyndham that is best known for its Coastal Park as well as its strong ties with the Royal Australian Air Force. It currently houses the RAAF Museum and it is recognised as the place where the RAAF was born. This suburb can be found by the coast, 29 km south-west from Melbourne’s CBD.

THE NEIGHBOURS
The population has rapidly multiplied with a total average of 50,000, with an average age of 20 to 39 years old. It’s a balanced mix with 40% of single residents and 60% of families in the neighbourhood. Meanwhile, owners make up 70% of home occupants and the remaining 30% are renting. It is an ideal place for families who enjoy the open space but also for established couples interested in a resort lifestyle.

THE SCHOOL RUN
A range of schools are available that mostly caters from Kinder to Year 9 such as Carranballac College, Alamanda College and Emmanuel College. High school students are able to continue their further study at Point Cook Senior Secondary College. Early childhood programs and learning centres are also available with more resources accessible through the Wyndham Library Service.

THE COMMUTE
Following the Werribee line, residents are able to choose between Hoppers Crossing station or Williams Landing Station, both a short 10 to 15 minute drive away. Bus services around the area are also available as an alternative mode of transport with multiple routes being serviced from Williams Landing station and bus stops along Point Cook road. The journey to the CBD takes around 45 minutes from the Princes Highway.

The central hub for shopping can be found at the Point Cook Town Centre, providing residents with 135 shop outlets and main supermarkets. The Stockland Point Cook Shopping Centre is conveniently situated on the middle of Main St. Featherbrook shopping centre and the Sanctuary Lakes shopping centre are also a 5-minute drive away.

Point Cook brings a coastal lifestyle surrounded by parks and lake views with a very diverse café and restaurant culture that can be found all around the suburb. As Werribee Open Range Zoo is only 10 minutes away, Point Cook has also naturally become a popular tourist spot.
