Minimalist Europe

Following the city’s modern architecture, Austria follows a more minimalistic approach by opting for a balance between luxurious and austere furniture. Similarly, Belgium embraces contemporary designs with simplistic layouts and shapes. Following its roots, England presents an elegant look with the touch of muted colours, murals and other artworks. It is also centralised on the eclectic look with classic designs ranging from different eras.

In Finland, they utilise natural materials consisting of dark wood, stone and wool to highlight the reliable quality. They also aim to have homes filled with sustainable design as they spend a lot of time indoors. Just like England, their colour palette is filled with warm, earthy and muted tones for a functional look. The trend in Italy is to include timeless grey kitchens, intricate craftsmanship and creative lighting for a lifestyle-centred interior. Rich in history, Greece display bare shapes and marble patterns with the aim of showcasing meaningful minimalism in the home.

Extravagant Europe

On the other hand, Berlin goes all out with terrazzo walls or flooring where the material included is quite mixed and versatile. Croatia also flaunts their striking designs through the use of oversized furniture, plush lounges and bold colours. In the same manner, Ireland also sticks to the trend of rich and vibrant colour tones for its interior design. Meanwhile, Denmark’s home inspiration is derived from lush greenery where they include green shades into their interior designs. In France and Portugal, they aren’t afraid to mix and match by layering several art pieces to emphasise the depth of the place.
