All the Essentials for Bedroom Comfort

When you wake up each morning, you want to feel refreshed and relaxed, ready to take on the day ahead. And after tackling a long, stressful day, all you need is a comfortable and calming space to put your feet up, relax and unwind. Which is why the bedroom plays a key role in making sure your body gets the downtime that it deserves. It is important to put in some extra time and effort to make sure your bedroom is a restful place to retreat. It is more than just a place where you sleep, so it needs to be comfortable. In most cases, we are so busy focusing on the living room and the kitchen of the house that making sure our bedroom is comfortable isn’t really high on our priority list. From the bedding to the aesthetics, follow these steps to transform your bedroom into a relaxing retreat!

Don’t Underestimate the Importance of Good Bedding!
Nothing says relaxation like a comfy, cozy bed. It all starts with the bed, so make sure to choose the best mattress that you can afford, feels best to you, and has enough support. Make sure to turn and maintain it regularly. Choose bedding, duvets and pillows that are comfortable. Use 100% cotton sheets, soft cushions and add throw rugs for decoration and to create that extra level of comfort.

Colour Me Up
The most relaxing bedrooms are the ones that are decorated with a cool colour palette. You don’t want to use bright colours for every single wall of the bedroom. Instead, stick to pastel shades of green and blue or go for a neutral look. You can bring in bright pops of colour through the accessories, artworks or even wallpaper.

Stay Organised
There is no way you could relax in a messy environment, which is why decluttering your bedroom is important. Take the time to organise your room and make designated spots for everything, so at the end of the day, it can go back to its own space. Invest in storage boxes, cabinets and even opt for a bed with storage underneath.

Follow the Light
If you’re on a mission for bedroom comfort, instead of having bright, overhead lights, try to opt for small and dim lamps around the room, which can help highlight different areas and make the eye wander. When it’s time to sleep, make sure the lights are not bright, but soft.

Decorate with Things you Love
Of course, you want your bedroom to be filled with items that you love, however, try not to overcrowd it. Bringing in greenery can purify the air in the room. Have a large plant in the corner or have several, small pot plants on a dresser. Have colourful vases around the room to bring in pops of colour and fill them with your favourite fresh flowers. Light scented candles around the room to create a serene glow. Such small details can really make your bedroom feel relaxing!
