Kalkallo is a very small town, approximately 30 kilometres north of Melbourne and part of the local government of the city of Hume. The closest bigger cities are Donnybrook and Craigieburn. The suburb is located on the lands of the people of the Woiwurrung, where land sales first started in 1840, shortly after the colonisation of the area. During the gold rush and with the duplication of the Hume Highway, it became more and more popular among land developers and builders. Though today a small community, Kalkallo’s housing and the population are forecasted to increase sharply in the next few decades, making it a future exciting and very livable suburb. Here’s our guide to the area:

The median age was 41 years. But with the population growth, there are especially young couples with their children expected to move to the area.
Travel & Infrastructure

You can get on the line ‘Seymour towards Melbourne’ and you’ll be at Southern Cross Station in less than 40 minutes. In about 50 minutes, you can get to Melbourne CBD by car via the M2. Otherwise, a 7-minute drive will take you to Donnybrook and another 10-minute drive to Craigieburn to connect you with multiple bus services.
